With Apologies, etc.

Hi friends! So … you might’ve noticed lately I’ve been not as great with posting things. I don’t even know for how long, but for a while now we’ve had the lovely and wonderful Sadie helping out with formatting and scheduling, which has been wonderful. (Side note, is there such a thing as green/purple color blindness?)

I’m something of a >.> control freak though, so I do the actual scheduling. And have had some oops.

I’ve tried really hard I think the past year+ but … just to address the all encompassing *waves hand vaguely* but also that we might be on hiatus, and/or I’ll be back dating posts (like this one!), which is the “apologies” part – to the wonderful review crew, and guest authors.

It’s also a bit of a “sorry not sorry.” In that … I really am truly sorry when posts don’t go up as scheduled. I really do try with A Little Bit Tart, A Little Bit Sweet, and I want to keep trucking on. Especially considering the hundreds of dollars (literally) I’ve sunk into this site.

… The “not sorry” part is though … there have been times I couldn’t (or can’t) walk, or times when I’ve literally lost my words. So … sorry (not sorry!) to the authors etc who can’t understand me not being able to talk or have words to me personally, outweighs the importance of their post or edits going up in a “timely manner.”

And sure, some people don’t know about all that shit I’m dealing with behind the scenes. And they don’t have to. But things are what they are. And I just wanted to explain to all of you … there’s just all this shit going on.

So – as it says – my apologies. Thank you for sticking with me. <3 Hopefully this too shall pass with good resolutions and such … and as before and always, I’ll keep on keeping on to the best of my ability. [And also sorry I’m just too tired etc to even find a picture to pretty this post up.]

Much love to you all. <3

To Be Honest …

I know I’ve dropped the ball. And I owe all of you, and the various guests apologies.

I’m sorry.

Unfortunately, this might be one of those “offends people” apologies, because … I don’t know how much I’ll change.

I just need a break, and you’d think the holidays would be it, but not with the people I’m around.

I will continue to post, and I will try to be timely. But I just want it put out there that … you shouldn’t hold your breath or set your schedule by me.

But January 2014 does mark the third year for A Little Bit Tart, A Little Bit Sweet, so that’s exciting, yes?

Look for lots of prizes etc this month.

Much love,

Lime

How This “Works”

Or doesn’t work, perhaps. I meant for this to be a very formal post, all well thought and things listed out, all the good stuff.

But first of all, that’s not really me these days. Secondly, I haven’t managed to do that. Or lose my eye twitch (which has got to be from stress), so one thing at a time.

First of all, if I ever forget to post winners, remind me! I always have the best of intentions. In fact, keep your eyes on this space, because I expect I’ll be updating this post to list the September winners. (That’s where we’re at, right?)

Here are the key points:

  • I will not email winners
  • If you email me, I may not respond. I try to, but things happen. This is especially true for someone who is “cold calling.”
  • Review requests I forward to the review crew. If there is any interest, I follow up. If not, you likely won’t hear anything.
  • I feel free to ignore any email from someone I don’t know that doesn’t address me as “Limecello.” Unless we’re actually friends, “Hi there” + [I want something from you] doesn’t fly with me. I know. It’s a quirk. Such is ALBTALBS.
  • I play fast and loose with time. I might pretend one day is another one, and weekends are more fluid. That’s part of my charm.
  • All my best intentions might be for naught. E.g. Posts. I had one scheduled for today. The person never sent it to me despite numerous reminders. That’s how it goes.

Of course, there are exceptions. Sometimes I’m wracked with guilt and email winners. Especially when it’s been a while. I obviously will reply to “Lime” or some variation of that – the point is, I don’t like it when people refuse to call me Limecello. And can’t understand what such a person would want to do with ALBTALBS anyway.

So what’s new with all of you? Are any of you interested in reviewing? I’m looking for people who can write thoughtful reviews that aren’t book reports or plot summaries.

SWAG Questions + Updates

Hi friends! I’m back at home base. 😀

Still behind, but that’s not new. Right? :\ And, I know I’m really flippant about it… but it does bother me a lot. And I’m sorry about it.

Actually, I have a few questions. First, I’m gearing up for Social Media for Social Good again. (SMSG). I’m debating between an ALS Charity, or *ETA decided on a Human Trafficking one. Unless something big comes up (and I hope not, because that means there is a global tragedy, you know?) – so, anyone have strong feelings one way or another? [Or if Romance Man has his 501c3 set up, I already agreed last year on his…]

Anyway. Hopefully I’ll be posting winners soon, and emailing everyone and catching up on those.

My question is though – s.w.a.g. – “stuff we all get” – what’s your favorite from authors that you’ve seen or received? What would you like to get? I’m gearing up for another post, and I’d really like any feedback and suggestions. And I’m sure authors would too. (And hey, speak up! Cuz that means it might be happening, and you might get it!)

ETA: Ok guys? … you do know that books aren’t swag right? Swag is the promotional type items authors hand out – there is very little likelihood an author has hundreds of copies of books s/he can just give away to everyone. That’s a different topic – when I ask about prizes. Swag does not mean prizes. (Or, some authors give it as a prize… but that’s another shoddy story.) Thanks! 🙂

Winners, A Confession, & A Note

So… let’s start with the confession. You’ll notice I didn’t post winners last week. I knew I was supposed to, and I almost did, but then time got away from me and it was almost midnight and I decided … you know what? I don’t want to. That’s right. I had a mental tantrum. And today, I thought “I control this blog – this blog doesn’t control me!” Which… I guess isn’t fair for the people waiting on it, but you know what? They can check back. All of you lovely people do – and shouldn’t you be rewarded more?! I think so.

On that note … hm. I was going to say if a winner ever doesn’t contact me, feel free to nudge me to re-draw. But how would you know? I guess you could ask in the comments of the winner post if I’ve heard from everyone. That works for me. 😀

And the actual note – which is really an update – I’ll be out of town next weekend. I’m not certain as to internet access, or time and availability, so there probably won’t be a winners post on Saturday. Tell your friends. 😉

I’m actually considering announcing winners bi-monthly now. (That’s twice a month, right? Or is it bi-weekly? I used to be so certain but then all these discussions in college with people made me uncertain and bleh.) Well, playing with the idea of every other Saturday. Although if that happens, how will all of you get your weekly dose of Lime rambling?! How will you ever survive?

I know – STFU, Lime. I’m there. The randomly chosen winners:
(If you aren’t sure if you’re the winner or not, you can click on the name here, which takes you to the actual comment that was chosen. See? I try to take care of everything.)

A few weeks ago, we had author Jennifer Bernard here talking hot firemen, and also unexpected heroes. Double bonus post and all! The lucky winner is barbed1951!

Then, Vivian Arend popped up again! Her winner is Laurie.

Carolyn Crane was here with a hilarious post – which kinda dated me. :X As in *small voice* I didn’t know a lot. Maybe most. I did know the kool-aid one though, because… something someone studied debate whatever… and also almost every cartoon for adults has spoofed it, right? Well, definitely the Simpsons and Family Guy. But the point is – her winner is Jeffe Kennedy!

Lovely author PJ Schnyder guested and shared a recipe. I love étouffée. I also have a lot of guilt attached to it but that’s another story. Mary Preston! You get the prize of yay!

I think that’s everyone. If I missed a post/neglected to choose a winner, someone please let me know. Thanks!

Winners! Please noteemail me with all your relevant information and what your prize is please. It’ll be in the original post. Which I linked to right here for your convenience. See how nice I am to you? Please return the favor! Xoxo

And for everyone else who didn’t win – just like me – did you see the lovely Melissa Schoeder and Cynthia Eden also have guest posts here with giveaways! Go enter! 🙂

Oh – and any opinions? Questions? Things you’d like to ask authors in the crazy Author Interviews? (We’ve got a number coming up.)
